| The idea of this station started about 3 years ago when the news of an open window for new applications for low power FM radio stations was announced.
After much work, prayer and coordination with many other groups locally, nationally and internationally we are now on the air. With the help of Ron Myers, who operates the Radio 74 network out of France, we are currently broadcasting from the campus of Walker Memorial Academy. Our current signal originates in Genevois, France and we receive it via satellite here in Avon Park, FL. We are currently broadcasting some of our local events and announcements from the academy and our local church at the top of every hour when applicable. In case you didn't know we actually are broadcasting two stations out of our studio at WMA. 95.9 and 107.9 FM are broadcasting the same signal from Radio 74 International. This has been necessary up to this point for broadcast requirements. We are now in the process of "localizing" our programming on WWMA-LP so we can reach more people in the area with different content. |
We have several people who have contacted us and are willing to help. We appreciate all of your offers. At this point our greatest need is a financial need. The equipment we have and the legal costs of getting us to this point has been very expensive and a few key people have helped to fund these expenses out of their own pockets. Now that we are on the air we are asking for your help as well.
